A good living room rug takes the most traffic in the home, so it starts with a resilient fibre: New Zealand wool, Grade I Terra, hand tufted at a dense pile or woven on the handloom. Size it so at least the front legs of every seat rest on it, usually 8x10 or 9x12 ft.
