The Solaris Collection

Solaris

Sunlight, slowly.

Nine rugs, one day. Solaris follows the sun through a house built in 1972, from the blue before dawn to the last warm light, and gives each hour a rug of its own. Hand tufted New Zealand wool, the colour blended row by row by hand, so one tone becomes the next without a line.

The story

Solaris, Latin for of the sun. A day never changes colour all at once.

  1. I

    A day

Light never switches. It drifts, hour by hour, from one colour into the next.

  2. II

    The wool

New Zealand wool, dyed in steps from the lightest shade of a colour to its deepest.

  3. III

    The hand

Each step tufted into the next by hand, row by row, so no line ever shows.

  4. IV

    The house

A hillside house from 1972, concrete and walnut, built to watch the sun move.

  5. V

    Living with it

Choose the hour you love most and keep it underfoot.
