Plush in Ivory is a handloom rug in New Zealand wool. New Zealand wool is a Terra grade fibre (Grade I), chosen for strength, natural texture and everyday living. A weaver builds the pile row by row on the handloom, which gives an even, settled surface.

It feels soft and deep. The pile stands 18 to 20 mm high. The ivory colourway is neutral in tone, a plain field that lets the pile do the work. It is one colourway of Plush, a Studio Collection line. It is listed in six sizes, from 5x8 to 12x15 ft. Any other size or colour can be made to measure in around 35 days. See more pieces in the Plush collection. Care is simple: vacuum regularly and use professional cleaning only.

New Zealand wool

The fibre

New Zealand wool

On wet green hills at the bottom of the world, a sheep grows a fleece so tightly crimped it holds the air, and forgets your footprint by morning.

What wool gives you

  • Warm in winter, cool in summer
  • Soft underfoot
  • Naturally flame resistant
  • Reduces noise
  • Wicks moisture
  • Recovers from pressure
  • One hundred per cent natural
  • Low carbon footprint

Worth adding

Stain resistant coating on a wool rug

Stain resistant coating

Applied at the end of making, before the rug leaves us. A spill beads on the surface instead of sinking into the pile, so you have time to lift it off with a cloth.

  • Invisible. No change to colour, sheen or the hand of the rug.
  • Care stays the same. Vacuum as normal, professional cleaning only.
  • Priced by the size of your rug.
Rug underlay

Rug underlay

A pad cut to the size of your rug and laid underneath it. It is the difference between a rug that sits and a rug that travels.

  • Holds the rug still, so corners stop creeping and curling.
  • Softens the step and adds a little height underfoot.
  • Keeps grit off the back of the rug, which is what wears a pile down.
