Nina Brunn Rugs: Abstract, Dune and Burke
Abstract, Dune and Burke are three hand tufted pieces in the Nina Brunn x Rugberry collection, each a different way to bring quiet texture into a room: Abstract in Botanical Silk on a square field, Dune in wool and Botanical Silk ridged like wind-shaped sand, and Burke, a textured wool and Botanical Silk rug in beige. Choose by shape first, then by how much sheen the room wants.

What links Abstract, Dune and Burke?
Abstract, Dune and Burke share a construction, hand tufting, and a restraint in colour, staying in greys, sands and beiges. The collection page describes Nina Brunn x Rugberry as Scandinavian restraint in hand tufted, handloom and handwoven wool, Botanical Silk and wool with Botanical Silk.

The three pieces here are the hand tufted, sheen carrying end of that collection. Each uses Botanical Silk, a plant-based yarn, either alone or with New Zealand wool, so each changes as the light moves across it. Rugberry's overview of Nina Brunn x Rugberry covers the wider collection, including the wool pieces and the flatweaves.
Abstract and Dune carry the Nina Brunn x Rugberry name on their product pages. Burke is listed in the same collection, and its product page names Rugberry Studio, so it sits beside the collaboration pieces as a quieter partner.
How do Abstract, Dune and Burke compare?
The three differ in fibre, shape and surface. The table compares them at regular prices ex GST, at the time of writing.
| Point | Abstract | Dune | Burke |
|---|---|---|---|

| Shape and sizes | Square: 6.5x6.5, 8x8, 10x10 ft | Rectangle: 5x8 to 12x15 ft | Rectangle: 5x8 to 12x15 ft |
| Pile | 14 to 16 mm | 14 to 16 mm | Not listed on the page |
| Entry price | ₹37,000 for 6.5x6.5 ft | ₹41,000 for 5x8 ft | ₹40,000 for 5x8 ft |

For a living room where the rug should be touched as much as seen, choose Dune over the other two, because its ridged bands give a real change in the surface underfoot. For a square room or a space under a round table, choose Abstract.
Where does Abstract work best?
Abstract works best in square spaces: a square sitting room, the floor under a round dining or centre table, or a bedroom where the bed sits on one wall and the rug fills the open floor in front of it. Its square sizes, 6.5x6.5, 8x8 and 10x10 ft, are rare in a stock range.

Hand tufted in Botanical Silk, Abstract has the strongest sheen of the three, cool underfoot with loose forms drifting across the field. In Cloud Gray it suits white marble and grey linen. Rugberry lists Abstract Cloud Gray at a partner store in 8x8 ft, so it can be seen in person; the store locator lists the stores.
Because it is all Botanical Silk, Abstract belongs in quieter rooms, away from the dining table's spills and the door's grit. Rugberry's guide to the Abstract rug covers the design and its three colours in more depth, and the guide to round rugs explains when a centred, non rectangular shape helps a room.
Why is Dune the most tactile of the three?
Dune is the most tactile because its surface is ridged in long, soft bands, like sand shaped by wind, so the design is felt underfoot as well as seen. The wool gives the ridges body and the Botanical Silk catches light along their crests.

Lay Dune so the bands run across the room's longest view, from the sofa towards the window. The ridges then read as a slow landscape and make the floor look longer. Laid the other way, they read as stripes and can make a room feel narrower.
Dune comes in six sizes, from ₹41,000 for 5x8 ft through ₹75,000 for 8x10 ft and ₹99,900 for 9x12 ft to ₹1,80,000 for 12x15 ft. Rugberry lists it at partner stores in 10x14 and 5x8 ft. Rugberry's guide to the ten rug textures explains how a sculpted surface differs from a printed pattern.
Abstract is seen, Dune is felt, Burke is lived on. Choose which one the room needs.
When should you choose Burke?
Choose Burke when you want texture and a low sheen without any visible pattern, in a calm bedroom or a living room that already has a strong sofa, art or wall colour. Its product page lists it as textured rather than patterned, in beige tones.

Burke is hand tufted in New Zealand wool and Botanical Silk, soft with a low sheen that shifts as you cross the room. Its quiet surface makes it the easiest of the three to place, and the one that will suit the next home as well as this one.
In a 12x14 ft bedroom with a king bed, an 8x10 ft Burke at ₹74,000 laid crosswise under the lower two thirds of the bed gives soft, warm texture where feet land. Burke's six sizes run from ₹40,000 for 5x8 ft to ₹1,79,000 for 12x15 ft. Rugberry's guide to solid and textured rugs covers rugs that rely on surface rather than pattern.
How do colour and light change these three rugs?
All three change with light because each uses Botanical Silk, but by different amounts: Abstract the most, because it is all Botanical Silk, Dune along its ridges, and Burke the least. Low morning and evening sun shows the sheen; noon light flattens it.
Cool, north facing rooms keep Abstract in Cloud Gray looking silver and even. Warm, west facing rooms in Delhi or Ahmedabad push Dune's sand tones towards gold in the late afternoon, which is when its ridges show most. Burke stays steady, close to its beige in any light.
Lamps matter as much as windows. A floor lamp beside a sofa, throwing light across the rug, brings out Dune's ridges at night. Rugberry's guide to lighting and sheen explains where to place lamps for each surface.
How do you care for these Nina Brunn pieces?
Care for Abstract, Dune and Burke by vacuuming regularly and using professional cleaning only, the care note on all three product pages. The Botanical Silk in each needs dry care: blot spills at once and never soak.
- Abstract. All Botanical Silk, so the most delicate. Vacuum with the brush bar off, in one direction.
- Dune. Vacuum along the ridges, not across them, so the bands keep their shape.
- Burke. The most forgiving. Rotate twice a year so wear and sun spread evenly.
- All three. Listed as not pet friendly where stated; keep pets and dining spills away.
See Abstract in Cloud Gray, Dune and Burke, or the full Nina Brunn x Rugberry collection. Each is listed in any size and any colour to order, made to your measure.
Which size of each rug suits which room?
Pick the size by the furniture the rug serves. Abstract's square sizes serve centred furniture; Dune and Burke's rectangles serve sofas and beds.
- 6.5x6.5 ft Abstract, ₹37,000. Under a round centre table with four chairs around it, or in a small square study.
- 8x8 ft Abstract, ₹56,000. Under a round dining table for four to six, leaving room for chairs to pull back.
- 10x10 ft Abstract, ₹87,000. A square sitting room with seating on all four sides.
- 8x10 ft Dune or Burke, ₹75,000 or ₹74,000. Most Indian living rooms of 12x16 ft, and king bedrooms.
- 9x12 ft Dune or Burke, ₹99,900 each. Living rooms of 14x18 ft and larger, with the whole seating group on the rug.
These are regular prices ex GST at the time of writing. Every piece is also made to measure, which matters for Abstract in a room that is nearly but not quite square, such as 11x12 ft. Rugberry's guide to living room rug sizes gives the rules behind these choices.
When in doubt between two sizes, mark both on the floor with masking tape and leave the tape for a day. Walk the room as you normally would, and the right outline usually becomes obvious.
