Stream, Nebula and Allure: Light in Wool and Botanical Silk
Stream, Nebula and Allure are three Rugberry rugs hand tufted in New Zealand wool with Botanical Silk, where the low sheen of the Botanical Silk does as much work as the pattern. Stream draws one dark line across a pale field, while Nebula and Allure are round: one clouded in greys, the other navy with fine ivory lines.
In short
- The Rugberry Stream Wool & Silk Rug is a pale ivory grey field crossed corner to corner by a single dark line, hand tufted in New Zealand wool and Botanical Silk, regular price ₹40,000 for 5x8 ft ex GST at the time of writing.
- The Rugberry Nebula Wool & Silk Rug is round, a clouded field of grey, blue grey, ivory and black on taupe, in 6, 8 and 10 ft diameters from ₹34,000 ex GST at the time of writing.
- The Rugberry Allure Wool & Silk Rug is round, deep navy with fine ivory lines in flowing, overlapping forms, in 6, 8 and 10 ft diameters.
- Botanical Silk gives a low sheen that shifts as you walk past, and it wears fastest where feet turn, so these rugs suit living rooms and bedrooms over hallways and busy family rooms.
What does Botanical Silk add to a wool rug?
Botanical Silk adds a low sheen that moves with the light, set against the matt body of New Zealand wool. In a rug like Stream, Nebula or Allure, the two fibres sit side by side in the pile, so parts of the design catch light while the rest stays soft and still.
That contrast is the point of a wool and Botanical Silk rug. The pattern changes as you cross the room: from one side the Botanical Silk areas read bright, from the other they read darker, because the fibres reflect light along the direction they lie.
Botanical Silk is a plant based yarn, softer and cooler to the hand than wool. Our guide to wool vs Botanical Silk sets out what each fibre does, and the glossary entry on sheen explains why it shifts.
How does the Stream rug use a single line?
The Stream Wool & Silk Rug uses one dark grey line that runs from one corner of a pale ivory grey field toward the other, branching a little on its way like a crack in stone or a river seen from the air. Everything else is left open.

A single line is a strong gesture on a quiet ground. It gives the room one direction to follow, so lay Stream with the line running away from the main seat toward a window or a door, and the floor gains depth.
The pale field is where the Botanical Silk shows most. On white marble in a Delhi or Hyderabad living room, the field reads close to the floor at noon, then lifts with a soft glow as lamps come on in the evening.
Stream comes in the six standard sizes. Its regular price is ₹40,000 for 5x8 ft, ₹79,000 for 8x10 ft and ₹1,76,000 for 12x15 ft, ex GST at the time of writing.
Why choose a round rug like Nebula or Allure?
Choose a round rug like Nebula or Allure when the furniture above it is round, when a room has curves or alcoves, or when a rectangle would fight the walls. A circle softens a square room and gives a round dining table or a cluster of armchairs a clear centre.

Both come in three diameters, 6, 8 and 10 ft. A 6 ft round suits a reading corner with two chairs or the space beside a bed; 8 ft holds a round table for four with chairs pulled in; 10 ft holds a table for six or a conversation group of four chairs.
For a round dining table, add about 24 inches beyond the table edge all the way round, so chairs stay on the rug when pulled back. Our guide to the right rug under a round dining table works through the sums, and round rugs in modern rooms covers other places a circle works.
Where does a round rug work in a bedroom?
In a bedroom, a round rug works best beside the bed or in a sitting corner, not under the bed itself. A circle under a rectangular bed leaves odd crescents of rug at the corners and none where your feet land.
A 6 ft Allure beside a king bed gives a soft, dark landing for bare feet on a cold marble morning, and its navy hides the small marks of a dressing area. In a large master bedroom with a window seat or two chairs, an 8 ft Nebula defines that corner as its own small room.
Round rugs also suit the awkward bedroom of many Indian flats, where a wardrobe, a door and a balcony opening leave one clear square of floor. A circle fits that square without pointing at any of the doors, and the room feels planned rather than squeezed.
Botanical Silk does not shine at you. It answers the light, a little differently from every chair in the room.
How do Nebula and Allure differ?
Nebula is clouded and soft edged, while Allure is graphic and dark. The Nebula Wool & Silk Rug spreads grey, blue grey, ivory and black across a taupe ground with no edge you can point to; the Allure Wool & Silk Rug sets fine ivory lines in flowing, overlapping forms on deep navy.

Nebula suits a neutral room of stone, linen and grey upholstery, where it adds movement without a new colour. Allure brings a strong blue into a room, which works with teak, cane, white walls and terracotta cushions, and reads well in the Indian modern rooms where colour lives in textiles.
The two sit close in price. Nebula costs ₹34,000 for 6 ft, ₹58,000 for 8 ft and ₹88,000 for 10 ft diameter; Allure costs ₹34,000, ₹59,000 and ₹85,000 for the same diameters, regular prices ex GST at the time of writing.
| Rug | Shape | Pattern | Colour | Best room | Regular price, ex GST |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Stream Wool & Silk Rug | Rectangle, six sizes | One branching line | Ivory grey, dark grey line | Living room, long bedroom | ₹40,000 for 5x8 ft |
| Nebula Wool & Silk Rug | Round, 6 to 10 ft | Clouded, no edges | Greys, ivory, black on taupe | Reading corner, neutral living room | ₹58,000 for 8 ft |
| Allure Wool & Silk Rug | Round, 6 to 10 ft | Fine flowing lines | Navy and ivory | Round dining table, bedroom | ₹59,000 for 8 ft |
For a round table in a room with plenty of other pattern, choose Nebula over Allure, because its clouded field will not compete with chair fabrics and art. For a plain white room that needs one confident colour, Allure is the stronger choice.
Where does Botanical Silk sheen work, and where does it wear?
Botanical Silk sheen works best where people sit, read and sleep, and wears fastest where they walk, turn and drag chairs. Plan the room so the Botanical Silk is admired more than it is crossed.

Rugberry's own product data rates Nebula as Moderate for durability and not pet friendly, and the same care applies to Stream and Allure. Claws catch the fine Botanical Silk fibres, and a dog that spins before lying down will flatten a patch within months.
Under a dining table, chairs pulled back and forth over one arc will polish the Botanical Silk there faster than the rest. Felt pads on chair legs help, and so does turning a round rug a quarter every few months, which a circle makes easy. Our post on whether Botanical Silk is durable enough for a living room goes into detail.
Light matters as much as feet. A Botanical Silk rug under a big west window in a Chennai or Ahmedabad summer will shift tone faster than one in a shaded room; a sheer curtain in the afternoon protects both the rug and the sheen. Our guide to how lighting changes a rug covers lamps and daylight.
How do you care for a wool and Botanical Silk rug?
Care for a wool and Botanical Silk rug with gentle, regular vacuuming and quick dry blotting, and leave any wet cleaning to professionals. Botanical Silk does not like water: it can stiffen, ring or lose its sheen if soaked at home.

Vacuum with suction only or the beater bar raised, moving with the pile, not against it. On a round rug, work from the centre out in straight passes, then turn the rug so each pass follows the pile.
Use a rug pad that grips without sticking, and keep a round rug away from the path of a sliding door or a robot vacuum dock. Fine dust from a monsoon week settles into the Botanical Silk and dulls it, so a light vacuum twice a week in the rainy months keeps the sheen clear.
For a spill, blot at once with a dry white cloth and press; never rub, which roughens the Botanical Silk and leaves a dull patch. Rugberry recommends professional cleaning only for all three rugs. For a quieter Botanical Silk line in a rectangle, the Livid Wool & Silk Rug draws charcoal wavy lines on ivory, covered in our post on Livid.
Frequently asked questions
Can Nebula or Allure be made in a larger round?
Yes. Rugberry makes both to measure, so a round larger than 10 ft or an oval for a long table can be ordered. Send the table size and the room plan, and the rug is sized so chairs stay on it.
Will the line on Stream run the right way in my room?
The line runs corner to corner, so you choose its direction by how you turn the rug. Before placing furniture, try it both ways and pick the one where the line leads toward the window or the longest view.
Does Botanical Silk feel cold underfoot?
Botanical Silk feels cooler and smoother than wool, which many people enjoy in an Indian summer. In these rugs it sits within a New Zealand wool pile, so the rug as a whole still feels soft and warm enough for winter mornings.
Are these rugs a good choice for a home with a cat?
They are not the best choice. Cats knead and scratch, and fine Botanical Silk fibres pull easily, so a hand tufted all wool rug with an even pile is the safer pick for a home with a cat.
Can I see Nebula in person before buying?
Nebula is listed for the Noida Experiential Centre in a 180 cm round, so you can walk round it and watch the sheen change. For Stream and Allure, a Rugberry swatch shows the fibre mix in your own light.
